Marc Mirisch, PT, DPT
As an avid athlete, marathoner and triathlete, Marc Mirisch, PT,
DPT understands the daily struggles of trying to remain competitive
and resume recreational activities after being injured. Dr. Mirisch
was first exposed to physical therapy as a high school baseball
player who underwent shoulder surgery. After a successful rehabilitation
process he decided to pursue a career in the field of physical therapy
completing his undergraduate education from San Francisco State
University with a Bachelor's Degree in English (1998). He then received
a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the
Pacific (2000). In addition, Dr. Mirisch recently went back to the
University of the Pacific to further his education and was granted
a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2004. He has worked as
an orthopaedic physical therapist since obtaining his licensure
at various sports medicine/orthopedic clinics in Northern and Southern
California.
Dr.
Mirisch is a National & State Member of the American Physical
Therapy Association including the Orthopedic and Sports Sections.
He has continued to progress his education completing a year long
manual therapy specialization course with the ultimate goal of attaining
an advanced manual therapy certification. Dr. Mirisch has also completed
postgraduate course work in Spinal & Pelvic pain, Biomechanics
of the Lower Quarter and neural mobilizations. Outside of evaluating
and treating patients at Athletic Physical Therapy's Simi Valley
location, Dr. Mirisch enjoys running, hiking, and staying active
outdoors with his wife, daughter, infant son and two dogs. Most
recently Marc and his wife completed the Santa Barbara Triathlon
and Big Sur marathon together and plan to have their kids riding
along for the next scheduled race.
